Born in Valladolid (spain) and lives in Madrid. Graduated with a degree in Information Science, and Psychology. His theatrical career began in 1964 in the Independent Theatre and the Studio Theatre of Madrid. He has been director of the Royal School of Dramatic Art of Madrid, (and Professor of Dramatic Writing), director of the National Classical Theatre Company, and president of the Academy of Performing Arts in Spain. He is the author of fifty works, among them: get Off the moor, The estanquera de Vallecas and Wild-type (taken to the cinema), long Live the duke, our owner!, The album family, Peers, and Nines. He has performed versions of Plautus, Moreto, Aristophanes, Moliere, Shakespeare, Calderon. He has written movie scripts, television series, children's fiction, and books of theory in theater: The dramatic writing and Handbook of theory and theatrical practice. Awards: National Theatre, Tirso de Molina, Mayte, Gold Medal Theatre of Valladolid, Max Award, and the Premio Castilla y León de las Letras.
