CORRESPONDENCE

CORRESPONDENCIA junta a una familia dentro de la sala de un tanatorio. Un hijo vela a su madre junto al resto de sus allegados. Todo es unión por el dolor de la pérdida, hasta que Carlos, el hijo de la difunta, encuentra en el libro de condolencias un mensaje injurioso contra su madre, lo que desencadenará una serie de acusaciones cruzadas y revelaciones de secretos que pueden dinamitar la estabilidad.
CORRESPONDENCIA es un texto sobre la arquitectura emocional de una familia y cómo esa construcción a veces puede tambalearse. El autor pretende interpelar a los espectadores a través de las conversaciones –y de los silencios– de estos cinco personajes, que pasan la noche contando y escondiéndose información, tratando de saber quién es quién, entendiendo que las palabras son capaces de derribar la identidad de una persona y llegando a descubrir que esa nueva identidad puede construirse, paradójicamente, a través del silencio. Solo hay que saber edificar a partir de ese vacío.

ROBERTO OSA (Basin, 1981) is a playwright, novelist, and worked for years as a director of television. In addition, she taught a class in the Master of Literary Creation of the International University of Valencia and has given workshops and lectures at international festivals, schools and libraries. Roberto was selected in 2017 for the PROGRAM CELA (Connecting Emerging Literary Artists), a project of the European Union to give to know the most outstanding emerging writers of the continent. His work has been translated into Italian, English, Dutch, Portuguese, and Romanian. The first novel of Roberto Osa, MORDERÁS THE DUST, won the XXXVI FELIPE TRIGO NOVEL AWARD and was a FINALIST OF the NADAL PRIZE 2017. CORRESPONDENCE is his first foray into the theater and has been honored with the AWARD CITY OF MALAGA THEATRE 2019, beating more than 170 works. The production was first performed in Malaga, to enjoy great acceptance among the public and the critics of the city.
