La acción se inicia a las doce de la noche del 31 de diciembre de 1999. Don Enrique es un alto ejecutivo de 64 años, que ha cometido un gran desfalco y está a punto de ser descubierto. En la soledad de su despacho escribe sus memorias, intentando encontrar en su pasado algún momento limpio que justifique el tipo corrupto en el que se ha convertido. Pero, a consecuencia del efecto 2000, su ordenador se convierte en un trasto inservible y él mismo pierde los datos que guardaba en su cabeza.Cual un Fausto contemporáneo, invoca a lo más alto (o a lo más bajo). Quienes acuden son otros dos personajes que resultan ser él mismo en su juventud y en su madurez. A lo largo de la obra se van a enfrentar estos tres personajes: el joven Quique, el señor maduro Reina y el viejo corrupto Enrique. Esta hidra de tres cabezas realiza un recorrido a través de los hechos relevantes de nuestra Transición, para cambiarlos y modificarlos, de manera que el viejo corrupto pueda librarse de los tribunales.
"Tres mujeres en África" está protagonizada por tres mujeres jóvenes, Arantxa, Eva y Lara, con un profundo mundo interior que se va desvelando poco a poco, y que realizan un viaje a un país de África Occidental que acabará desencadenando en ellas una fuerte crisis de convivencia, y un profundo desencuentro entre ellas. La breve estancia en ese país africano hace que afloren sus prejuicios mezquinos, su racismo enmascarado, su frivolidad occidental, su ignorancia arrogante ante una cultura que miran por encima del hombro, sus instintos sexuales reprimidos y su temor, casi terror sagrado, ante un mundo hostil que les desborda y no se molestan en comprender. África vista a través de la mirada temerosa, risueña, cínica, irrisoria, frívola, altiva e ignorante de tres "niñas bien".
