A Miguel Hernández, preso, le visitan sus fantasmas. Josefina; Ramón Sijé; Pablo Neruda, y una misteriosa mujer que tal vez conoció en Madrid. Esta visita nos arrastrará directamente al pasado en un viaje apasionado por los versos de la vida, del amor y de la muerte. Porque Miguel tiene que tomar su última decisión, la quee supone escoger en un antiguo dilema entre la conciencia y la vida.
"Miguel Hernández" recorre la vida del poeta desde su adolescencia hasta su muerte, en 1942 en el Penal de adultos de Alicante, donde cumplía la condena por rebelión (sic) que le impuso el tribunal militar por el que fue juzgado al término de la guerra civil.
En esos cortos catorce años, Miguel cambia Orihuela por el Madrid en ebullición de los años treinta, se enamora, cambia, lucha, hace la guerra, se casa, tiene hijos, es encarcelado... y deja detrás suyo una obra poética -más de 25.000 versos- que configura una de las poéticas mas hermosas e interesantes de la poesía española del siglo XX.

Últimamente los padres de Mim se encuentran preocupados. La maestra ha sugerido que Mim padece de un tiempo a esta parte de ciertas ausencias y una melancolía poco común. Un día el violinista se ausenta y Mim enferma.
El presidente del Consejo de Administración de una importante empresa se encuentra atrapado en la cabina de un retrete. Recibe la llamada de su secretaria en el nuevo minimóvil de última generación, tan diminuto como una lenteja. Al contestar, el aparato se le cuela dentro del oído y va atravesando su dolorido cuerpo y desvelando, al mismo tiempo, muy a su pesar, sus verdaderas intenciones y sentimientos hasta el punto final de recorrido.
