Synopsis

Doncella manda pasar a un mendigo. La señora lo trata como a un aristócrata. Toman el té y él lo vomita. Lo duchan y se marea. Se recupera al oler su ropa andrajosa. Viste un esmoquin. Ignora su estómago y le enseñan a comer. La señora le pide una limosna de sangre. Le indican versallescos cómo utilizar el retrete. La hija no puede tener hijos con su marido. El pobre, que no sabe, va a desnudarse. Joven matrimonio amigo. Nace el bebé. El señor cae por la escalera. Transplante. Le regalan una muleta. El marido pierde un brazo. Nueva limosna. La amiga, que tiene un ojo de cristal, es obsequiada teatralmente. Invasión de hambrientos. Detonaciones. El amigo trae el brazo en cabestrillo y a la señora le falta una pierna. Número de ilusionismo del señor. Los tapa con una cortina. El mendigo, sin extremidades, está sentado en una silla de ruedas. La doncella, que perdió un ojo en un accidente, con unas gafas oscuras. Se las pone y queda ciego. La hija, enferma del corazón, lo abraza fuerte.

MY BIOGRAPHY TO SCENE was unaware that there was no one I had discussed. What a surprise. I went to court to ask for a birth certificate for one of my characters and I found mine. Had come to life, in La Coruña (Spain), April 22, 1935. I read it, as if it were a book, the pages of my memories. Dwelt in the darkness, was a companion of shadows without sense. The light, from the spotlight, he showed me the reality. Dwelt on an empty stage, in a space of fiction. I had to invent my own being, arise between the nothing. My imagination was creating the argument that it should interpret. I painted the backdrop for the world, a home, parents, society. The whole history of humanity can be found in the tables on which it represents its absurd spectacle. I was happy, I was playing in theater, I felt free. I soon stopped being one.
